My friend Laura has been working toward gather up warm clothing and wet-weather protective gear for Freedom Sleepers. She has a helper at CAB, Inc now, so be sure to let her or others know what specific things you need in case it helps/. More info on this at facebook, and maybe at your Fridays organizing meeting.

  4. About a dozen self-described Freedom Sleepers set up tents and camped outside on the steps of the old Berkeley City Hall on Monday to fight for homeless rights, as some members of the city council want to step up police patrols in the parks to fight off unsanitary conditions for families.

  5. Allowing the homeless to sleep where they might when they need ought not to even be a question BUT it is a manor civik rights struggle. First they took sleep away from tge homeless then whst. How vike and ugly this paranoid and ignorzntly “defensive” law this sleeping ban of Santa Cruz Cit is. Any such law within any district of people must awaken the future victims to say, “Oh hell mo!”
I do not remember tge exsct numbers but the percentage of homeless who previously resided in the city AND the percentage of them who owned homes or those born in this city is very high and disputes by facts of acreality not understood or know by initiators or supporters of this ugly shameful civil code, this “law”!
